Personal development is important to achieving any personal goals, but it’s also important for achieving your business goals. It’s your own skills, self-confidence and motivation that make your business goals possible.
How to Create a Goal
Not every goal has to be big, and not every goal must be one that would be apparent to other people. The best way to meet a goal is sometimes in ways that are apparent to only you. Making a small amount of progress toward a modest goal may be just what you need to help your self-confidence in one area, though it may not be noticeable to other people.
If needed, set small goals that you know you can tackle rather than big ones that cause undue stress. Once you get used to meeting these small goals, the larger ones won’t seem so difficult.
Personal Business Goals
When creating a business goal, think about your own personal strengths and weaknesses. Part of personal development is to work on improving those strengths and making progress on the weaknesses. If there’s something that you know needs work in your business because it’s something that you aren’t good at, make it a point to work on it and to show improvement within a set period of time.
Self Motivation
Part of meeting goals is being motivated. A simple personal development technique to provide motivation is to reward yourself for goals that are met. Meeting a financial goal can result in a special purchase for yourself. Working longer hours or working more efficiently for a set period of time can be rewarded by a short vacation in a place that you enjoy.
With these rewards waiting, it can be easier to get through the work that leads to meeting them.

Hey Liam,
Great to meet you. I’m just adding your blog to my Blogging tribe as it stands out…
I always set goals/outcomes each week/month and focus on them. I found that the less goals I set each month, the more likely I achieve them as focus is very important for me.
How long have you been blogging for and in Networking?
Look forward to hearing from you. Either drop me a comment on my blog to say hi, or send me a quick email and we can catch up.
I’m add you as a friend on FB and follow Twitter also.
Thanks
Gavin

Hi Gavin,
Thanks for the comments.
I have found that setting goals (both personal and business) is essential , whether they be short term or long term goals.
As Dan Schawbel outlines in his book on Personal Branding, ME 2.0, setting of goals should be SMART :-
S – Specific
M – Measurable
A – Attainable
R – Relevant
T – Timely
I have found this advice to be particularly useful.
Thanks again for the post…..i’ll be in touch.

Thanks for your valuable post. Thinking about it, people who have succeeded had some way of goal setting and achieving.
I think we should chat a little bit more since I think we have a common purpose of helping others achieve their goals.
