It is a popular misconception that all small business owners are entrepreneurs. Small business owners often follow the same tried and true methods of conducting and running their business that larger corporations do. They are structured and methodical. While this is not necessarily a bad thing, it does not demonstrate any of the characteristics of the entrepreneurial mindset. An entrepreneur creates and develops an often wildly successful business in a very short period of time. They think differently than other business owners. They are willing to try new things, implement new procedures and use new technology that has not been widely accepted.

There has been a lot of talk around the online social communities about how to build your value. Most experts agree that it starts with you. Value, specifically your value is a perception of you by others. So to start with, in order for your outward perception to be positive, you must believe in yourself. Also, realizing your true value goes a long way in convincing yourself that you are truly valuable and have an abundance of your qualities to give to others. So that fundamental first step is self valuation, selling yourself to your inner core and belief center.
